Poverty and Inequality:Our Collective Problems 2015
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were set at the United Nations Summit. While the previous Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), adopted in 2000, built upon the international cooperation activities of former development programs, such as UN Development Decades launched in the 1960s, the SDGs aim at a comprehensive solution to the economic, social, and environmental problems of all members of the U.N., including advanced countries. With the slogan, “Leave No One Behind”, the SDGs require the involvement of civil society and individuals, in addition to national goverments.
