Victimizers and Victims of the Fifteen Year War

What Would Happen if a War Began?

The series of aggressive acts launched by Japan, from the Manchurian Incident to the Asia-Pacific War, lasted for 15 years. During this “Fifteen Year War” Japan left various scars in China, Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, and other areas that turned into battlefields. Moreover, Japan’s total-war policy forced not only soldiers on the battlefield but also women and children at home, and residents of Japan’s colonies, to cooperate in the war. We have heard war survivors say many times “never again.” What would happen if a war began? Listen carefully to survivors of the war  and imagine what could happen.
